Gotta Get One – Jager Dispenser

We’re gonna need a big house (for all the crap I’m gonna put in it). Seriously, at most, unless you went completely nuts, at most you’d ever want 3-4 shots of Jagermeister per week. Of course, if I had 3 other roommates, it would make more sense.
oh no!

The Police – July 10, 2007

Caught The Police at Dolphin Stadium last night. Pretty good show as I managed to miss Fiction Plane and Maroon 5 (yes!). You’d think a state-of-the-art-for-the-60′s football stadium would have more than 2 parking lot entrances (and as I would find out later in the evening, 2 exits). The band played for about 2 hours and had 3 “encores” (I count an encore as when the lead singer says “Good Night” and they come back out). Sting was decent, but couldn’t hit the high notes. Andy Summers is the Michael Anthony of guitarists – how does that guy get work? Stewart Copeland was epic and totally on for the show. He’s a really good drummer percussionist and seemed the most “happy to be there” of them all. I estimated the band grossed about $5 million for that one night, so they all should’ve been pumped. The light show was disappointing and for the most part, none of them really moved around or anything. I get the feeling the whole tour was sort of ‘last minute’. Anyways, it was fun and the crowd on the floor where I was at was into it. Short people behind me kept tapping me on the back and asking me to sit down all night though – even going so far as to constantly have ushers check my ticket to be sure that was my seat. I finally told them to fuck off. At that point I didn’t care anymore and would’ve kicked their munchkin asses all over that place. Besides that though it was a good experience :)

Why the iPhone isn’t right for me… right now

I’ve been asked quite a bit this week why I’m still using my old RAZR and not toting the new iPhone. There a few basic reasons why it wouldn’t make alot of sense, namely that I tend to drop my phone at least once a week. Feature-wise though, the iPhone doesn’t satisfy the basic requirements of what I need in my next mobile phone. For data, I would need “3G” or HSDPA or whatever the AT&T highspeed network is called. WiFi isn’t as important to me, since it is just a phone and not a “laptop replacement” (i just invented that term). ring ring The second main feature in my next phone, assuming 3G is there, is SlingPlayer. Access to my Slingbox from a portable device would be huge, especially with the multimedia capabilities of the iPhone. Third, I would need 16GB of flash storage space. I really think v2 of the iPhone could include 3G and be released at 16GB & 8GB sizes, probably at the same price-point. I gotta think the folks at Sling are working on a solution because 500k+ people just became iPhone users – the problem is that the network sucks, so imagine trying to watch a sling-feed on a dialup connection…
